Dads Rock Project Achieves Significant Impact in Spring Term 2024

Evolve Music’s Dads Rock initiative continues to make waves in supporting early years children’s development while fostering strong bonds between fathers and their children.

The Spring Term 2024 evaluation reveals a highly successful run of the programme, which is part of Evolve Music’s broader Sound Footing initiative, funded by Arts Council England.

Overview

Dads Rock offers free, 1.5-hour Saturday morning sessions led by professional community musicians. These sessions are designed to help Dads and male caregivers engage creatively with their children through music, stories, games, and free play.

The sessions aim to enhance children’s communication, physical skills, creativity, social interactions, and overall wellbeing.

During the Spring Term 2024, 33 sessions were held across four locations, with 96 fathers and 112 children participating. Dads Rock also provided professional development opportunities for community musicians involved.
