Annette Burghes Appointed Octagon Music Hub Manager

After nearly four years leading Evolve Music as Executive Director, Annette Burghes will be leaving the organisation to take up an exciting new role as Octagon Music Hub Manager, working with colleagues at Somerset Council and Dorset Council. The Music Hub, based at the Octagon Theatre, is part of a national network funded by Arts Council England to deliver the ambitions of The Power of Music to Change Lives: A National Plan for Music Education.

Reflecting on her time with Evolve, Annette said:

“It’s been a fabulous journey building Evolve Music over the past four years. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together from strengthening our programmes and partnerships to celebrating the creativity and resilience of the people we work with. A huge thank you to our brilliant trustees, team, music leaders, funders, supporters and everyone who has played their part and, most of all, to the talented participants whose creativity inspires everything we do. It’s been a privilege to work alongside such a passionate community, and I’m excited to see what comes next for Evolve.”

Claire King, Chair of Trustees, said:

“Annette has been an outstanding leader for Evolve Music steering the organisation through growth and change with creativity, care and vision.
