Join Our Team: Access & Inclusion Worker for Sound Lab Yeovil

Evolve Music is seeking an Access & Inclusion Worker to work closely with our Project Coordinator and Community Music Practitioners to provide support for the young people with additional learning needs that attend our Sound Lab programme in Yeovil.
The key purpose of this role is to support the wellbeing of participants by enabling them to gain independence and develop positive relationships through engagement in creative activities. The Pastoral Support Leader will be responsible for behavioural / safeguarding issues during workshop delivery and to support any accessibility needs for participants.
We are looking for someone with practical experience of supporting young people with neurological differences and/or additional learning needs. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with participants.
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is essential for this post.
Access & Inclusion Worker Tasks |
Be the first point of contact for parents/guardians and carers bringing young people to sessions.
liaise and welcome parents, carers and participants, setting up refreshments where appropriate. |
Ensure the main music space is not accessed by the young people prior to the session starting unless music leaders say otherwise. |
Promoting Sound Lab sessions locally. |
Maintain a psychologically safe environment for the young people, facilitating their inclusion in musical activities and dealing positively and supportively with non-participation. |
Work with the Evolve Music team to assess the access and inclusion needs of young people looking to join the Sound Lab provision. |
Inform the Evolve Music team of any additional access and inclusion equipment needed for sessions, this may be musical equipment or pastoral care items. |
Work with the Evolve Music team to collect evaluation data. |
Access & Inclusion Worker Essential Capabilities
● Experience of supporting young people with additional learning needs ● Excellent communication skills ● Be available to support weekly term-time Sound Lab sessions @ Westlands Entertainment Venue in Yeovil 16.00-18.30 on Tuesdays starting January 21st 2025. Spring term dates: Jan 21/28, Feb 4/11/25, Mar 4/11/18 |
Desirable:
● Youth work qualification ● Experience in project working, planning and service development ● Access to own transport

Available budget
● £300 for 8 x 2.5-hour sessions (@ £15 per hour) delivered weekly from January 2025 to March 2025
