Our impact

We engage third party evaluators to undertake impact assessments of our projects and services. This process enables us to assess whether we are working towards our mission and ambitions as a community music charity and how activities can be improved.

We share these assessments with those taking part, commissioners and the wider community sector to help those invested in using arts as a tool for social change to learn and develop their own approaches.

What people say about us…

“Sound Store has supported our residents to gain a lot more confidence in telling stories in front of each other as well as more confidence talking to staff about any worries or concerns.”

Bloomfield Care Home

“Honestly, the sessions were possibly the best thing that has happened for my son for a couple of years. It has been so difficult to find any activity that he can take part in and yet you achieved this and made him so welcome. He loves all sorts of music and songs and to combine this with the chance to spend time with other young adults was fantastic!”

Sound Lab Summer Club

“I think it was really good, especially during lockdown – it was great to have something that he could do which was creative, about something he really enjoyed. ”

“We never realised before how important music is [before Sound Explorers]… we just do it now, we don’t think about it… it’s part of our culture”

Sound Explorers Host

“[Sound Explorers] really has made a very big difference for our children in our care. There have been improvements with their speech and language and most importantly their well-being. The work you have role modelled for our SEN children has also changed the way we support our non-verbal children, and how important music is for our children’s young lives”

Nursery Manager

“Each week we are surprised at how they think up new ways to involve music!”

Nursery Manager

“From my perspective, when we started my daughter was very young and now she’s developed her own personality. Dads Rock has helped with that, playing instruments. It’s very relaxing. I think it’s enjoyable…seeing other Dads, interacting with other Dads, that you wouldn’t do otherwise, I think overall…it’s very good for my wellbeing certainly.”

Dads Rock participant

“Through regularly going to Dads Rock, I can see my child’s social skills and confidence have grown hugely.”

Dads Rock participant

“It really helped me, as [I] was going through separation straight after the birth of our child, it gave me a safe space and a place to learn and bond. ”

Dads Rock participant

“My son has started to really enjoy listening and singing to music on the way to nursery in the mornings and when he thinks I am not looking he dances which is new for him. Brilliant project ”
