Our Impact Grows Across Devon
Evolve Music continues to make a lasting impact across Devon with a range of inclusive, music-based early years programmes supporting children, families, and educators.
Childminder Sound Explorers
From January to March 2025, we ran five Childminder Sound Explorers sessions in Torbay, Ivybridge and Plymouth, engaging 113 children and 41 adults. We’re excited to now have Childminder Champions in Plymouth and Torbay, who will continue leading sessions using Evolve music kits. We’re exploring with partners new delivery in Dorset, North Devon and Cornwall.
SEND Music Adventurers
Our SEND Music Adventurers sessions offer a safe and inclusive space for children with additional needs and their caregivers. Group sizes remain small to meet children’s needs, with powerful feedback from families highlighting the value of the space:
“If it wasn’t for groups like this, we really wouldn’t socialise… These children don’t get the chance to connect because as parents of children with needs, we struggle to take them to public settings where there isn’t any understanding.”
Sound Explorers at Jack and Jills, Widewell
Jack & Jill’s Childcare specialises in supporting Royal Marine and Royal Naval Families and this 12-week music residency combines group sessions and 1:1 music-making with CPD for staff.
Positive changes are already being seen in children’s confidence, communication and creativity. A master’s Music Therapy student has also joined us on placement—enhancing learning all round.
Ham Drive & Plymbridge Schools
We’ve delivered group and 1:1 sessions at Ham Drive and Plymbridge nurseries, supporting children with a range of needs. It’s been fantastic to see Ham Drive staff continuing music sessions independently following Evolve training last year.
Across Devon, Evolve Music is helping children thrive, families connect, and early years settings grow in confidence through the power of music.
