Community Rhythms: a family-focused celebration of East African culture (part of Bristol Refugee Festival)

A Father’s Day special for Bristol Refugee Festival 

Creative Rhythms for Early Years: young children will explore instruments and playful rhythms from both East Africa and the UK. Fathers (or male caregivers) are warmly encouraged to attend and take part in this session with their children, making it a shared experience of joy and bonding.

Women’s Circle with Sukina Noor: a dedicated space for East African mothers and female family members to reflect, connect and create poetry inspired by shared stories and traditions.

Halal snacks: enjoy free delicious East African food, specially prepared for families and perfect for little ones.

A joyful, welcoming space to honour and remember East African heritage through food, poetry, rhythm and togethernes

  • Doors open at 2pm
  • Women’s Circle and Creative Rhythms for Early Years will both start at 2.30pm and finish at 3.30pm
